1. About These Terms

RankMyGame ("the Platform") is operated by Nemesis Gaming, registered at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Platform.

By accessing or using the Platform, or by creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. User Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account on RankMyGame. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Each person may hold only one account. You must provide a valid email address and complete email verification to activate your account.

3. User Content & Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you post on RankMyGame. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and promote your content on and in connection with the Platform. This licence is revocable by deleting your content from the Platform.

Rights Warranty. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights, licences, and permissions to post all content you submit to the Platform, and that such content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.

Authorship. When submitting player guides, cheats, or other written content, you must accurately declare whether the content is original, adapted from another source, or contains quoted material. Adapted or quoted content must include proper attribution to the original source.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post abusive, hateful, threatening, or illegal content
  • Post defamatory, libellous, or knowingly false statements about any person, company, or product
  • Harass, bully, intimidate, or make personal attacks against other users, developers, or publishers
  • Spam, manipulate rankings, or use bots or multiple accounts to influence votes
  • Upload or distribute malware, viruses, or any harmful software
  • Upload copyrighted material without proper authorisation or attribution
  • Attempt to compromise the security of the Platform
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Stream or upload content containing copyrighted music or other media without proper licensing

5. Reviews & Ratings

Reviews must be based on genuine personal experience with the game. Fake reviews, paid reviews without disclosure, review bombing, and coordinated rating manipulation are prohibited. Reviews containing defamatory statements, personal attacks against developers, or knowingly false claims may be removed and may result in account suspension.

6. Streaming

Streamers are solely responsible for ensuring their streams comply with all applicable copyright laws. This includes responsibility for in-game music, background audio, and any other copyrighted material appearing in streams, clips, or VODs.

RankMyGame operates a DMCA/copyright strike system. Repeated copyright violations will result in strikes, and accumulating three strikes will lead to permanent suspension of streaming privileges. All streamed content must also comply with the Platform's content moderation rules and Prohibited Conduct provisions set out in these Terms.

7. Playable Games & Uploads

Developers uploading playable games represent and warrant that they have the right to distribute such content and that it is free of malware. All uploads are subject to automated security scanning and moderation review. RankMyGame reserves the right to remove any uploaded content at its sole discretion.

8. Purchases & Subscriptions

Pro Subscriptions. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

Digital Purchases. Digital purchases — including games, cartridges, streamer subscriptions, and advertising space — are non-refundable once access has been granted. In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the 14-day cooling-off period for digital content is waived with your explicit consent given at checkout.

All payments are processed via Stripe. All prices displayed on the Platform are inclusive of VAT where applicable. For further details, please see our Refund Policy.

9. Creator & Developer Terms

RankMyGame charges a 10% platform commission on all transactions, including streamer subscriptions, donations, and game sales. Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect and are subject to Stripe's applicable terms and conditions.

Tax obligations — including registration and reporting with UK HMRC or the relevant tax authority in your jurisdiction — are solely the responsibility of the creator or developer.

The Platform may withhold payouts in cases of policy violations, chargebacks, or suspected fraudulent activity. All creator and developer content must comply with the Platform's content standards, and the Platform reserves the right to remove content that does not comply.

10. Affiliate Links & Deals

Some links on the Platform are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence game rankings, review scores, or editorial content on the Platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nemesis Gaming, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) any content you post, upload, or otherwise make available through the Platform; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party, including intellectual property rights.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. RankMyGame does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Game ratings, scores, and reviews reflect community opinions and are not endorsed by RankMyGame.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RankMyGame's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to the Platform in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

RankMyGame shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any matter for which it would be unlawful to exclude or limit liability, including your statutory consumer rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.

14. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including indemnification, limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law — will remain in full force and effect.

15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
