25 Years in the Making
RankMyGame launched in 2001 as a voting site for text-based MMOs — a place where players ranked the MUDs and browser games they loved. Life got in the way and the site came down, but the domain stayed renewed every single year for 25 years. In 2026, the platform was rebuilt from scratch — same mission, modern tech. Rankings decided by real players, not marketing budgets.
Our Story
Launched as a voting site for text-based MMOs. Players voted daily for their favourite MUDs and browser RPGs. Rankings built entirely on player votes — a radical idea at the time.
The site came down due to time commitments, but the domain was renewed every year. The plan was always to bring it back.
Rebuilt from the ground up. Game discovery, a marketplace where creators keep 90%, developer analytics, live streaming, and a full community — all powered by the same principle: every ranking earned through real player votes.
Why RankMyGame?
Honest Rankings
No pay-to-rank. No sponsored placements. Every position is earned through real player votes — and has been for over 20 years.
Indie Spotlight
Small studios deserve visibility. Here, a solo dev's passion project competes on equal footing with AAA titles — just like when we ranked MUDs.
Community Driven
You decide what's good. Vote, review, discuss — the community shapes the rankings, not algorithms or editorial teams.
Then & Now
