Copyright & Takedown Policy
Last updated: 7 April 2026
1. Overview
RankMyGame (“the Platform”), operated by Nemesis Gaming, respects the intellectual property rights of others. We handle takedown requests in accordance with the United Kingdom Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (“CDPA 1988”) and the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, relying on the regulation 19 hosting defence where applicable. We also accept notices submitted under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) for rights holders whose works are protected under US copyright law.
2. Designated Contact
All copyright-related correspondence should be directed to our designated copyright agent:
- Agent name: Jorge Bernard Silver
- Organisation: Nemesis Gaming
- Mailing address: 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom
- Email: [email protected]
3. Filing a Takedown Notice
If you believe that content hosted on RankMyGame infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to our designated contact above containing the following:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The specific URL(s) or location of the allegedly infringing material on the Platform.
- Your contact information, including your full name, postal address, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
4. Counter-Notice
If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated contact. Your counter-notice must include:
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location at which it appeared before removal.
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (or, for US-filed counter-notices, the relevant US federal district court) and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party or their agent.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
5. Response Time
We aim to acknowledge receipt of valid takedown notices within 48 hours. We will act on properly submitted notices within 24–48 hours, depending on volume and complexity. Where allegedly infringing content appears in a live stream, we may take interim measures—including muting audio or suspending the stream—while we verify the details of the notice.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
RankMyGame operates a three-strike repeat infringer policy:
- First strike: The infringing content is removed and the user receives a formal warning.
- Second strike: The infringing content is removed and streaming privileges may be temporarily suspended.
- Third strike: The user’s streaming privileges are suspended and, in severe or repeated cases, the account may be permanently terminated.
Strikes expire twelve (12) months from the date of issuance. Severe cases—such as large-scale or commercial infringement—may result in immediate permanent termination regardless of prior strike count.
7. Streaming & Audio Content
Streamers are responsible for ensuring their streams do not contain copyrighted music or audio without proper licensing. In-game music may be subject to separate copyright protections distinct from the game itself. We strongly recommend using royalty-free music libraries or licensed music services for stream background audio to avoid potential takedown notices.
